Boxes be gone

Abe and I worked the whole day cleaning out the garage and clearing out the last rooms in the house that had boxes in them. The girls loved it because we were outside most of the time, and I sorted through bins while they played in the pool, blew bubbles, drew with chalk, ate tons of watermelon, sucked lollipops, and explored the yard searching for ants.

They started off by painting while we sorted and organized.

Mom, this is your office now that it doesn't have any boxes. We put all the boxes in your closets and the garage (once we had space in the garage...that took six or seven hours to organize!).

We found a spot for my table and chairs! They have been living in the garage until now. I'm so happy I don't have to give these away.

Our hillbilly junk pile. We filled the van and the Subaru with DI stuff, and we had so much additional trash that we made a pile on the side of our lawn. Abe thinks we can get rid of it by the end of the month--or sooner, if we are organized go-getters and make a trip to the city dump. After all the work today, neither of us feel much like go-getters...
