our umpteenth sick day at home

We were up almost all night on and off with the sick girls and hungry baby, so at 5 am I gave up trying to sleep and just went swimming instead. I offered the world my best today, but I still couldn’t figure out how to cook dinner AND attend to my kids. I’m hoping I figure that out soon, for our budget’s sake.

Here are the pictures I took today:

Just when I started wondering if Mary had pneumonia, I found her cuddled up with Ammon on the bed. Heretofore she has shown very little interest in her baby brother. Sad, ironic timing. I'm hoping Ammon survives her affection.

We invented a new potty training rule today. Mary only gets to wear pants if she has peed in the potty, and every time she wets or poops in her pull-ups, she gets that privilege taken away. She LOVES wearing pants, and this rule seemed to put us back on track again. Although, I must admit, I have no idea when she is going to learn how to poop in the potty. I pray for her every time she tries, but so far we have been unsuccessful in the extreme.

The girls put on a music show for Ammon and me today. This was show #2 because when we first sat down, Ammon puked all over and needed an immediate bath.

When I came home from picking up some Thai food for dinner, I found Lydia directing Abe to slave away on the fort. She's our little manager in training.
