They were the biggest flop! I wanted to cry by the time we were done; the kitchen was a wreck and my cookies were an ugly, sticky mess. First world problem, I know...but I still felt legitimately frustrated. Lydia felt fine about it all, though. First world problem, I know&#8230;but I still felt legitimately frustrated.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>I spent the rest of the morning and most of the day organizing. That felt great.<\/p>\n<p>Abe did\u00a0<em>Insanity<\/em> again with the girls:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/abeandlily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/IMG_6098.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1838\" alt=\"IMG_6098\" src=\"http:\/\/abeandlily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/IMG_6098-1024x682.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/abeandlily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/IMG_6102.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1839\" alt=\"IMG_6102\" src=\"http:\/\/abeandlily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/IMG_6102-1024x682.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After cleaning, I jumped right into cooking for our dinner party with two of our friends, Jon and Shirley. Abe is marrying them this May, and so they wanted to talk about what goes into all of that. Balu came too, and so the occasion felt festive (made even more so by the fact that 10 minutes before everyone arrived, both girls changed out of their pj&#8217;s&#8230;)<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1840\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1840\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/abeandlily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/IMG_6103.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-1840\" alt=\"I tried the squash rings again, and it worked! I just needed smaller squashes. I had no idea what a difference that would make; Abe and I agreed that the strata I made for Christmas actually tasted better microwaved than it did when we ate it the first time.
