On Tuesday we had the Kahlers over for our German Christmas dinner. I am trying to do Christmas around the world with dinners, but it is a bit hard because Abe is out of town so much this month. We managed to get Germany done with the Kahlers, though! And we had so much fun with them. We are so lucky to have the best neighbors in the world.
I made Sauerbraten, rotkohl, smashed potatoes, and steamed green beans with a side of Great Harvest bread and an assortment of Trader Joe’s German cookies. I actually don’t think this dinner was a traditional GermanĀ Christmas dinner, but the sauerbraten and rotkohl were, at least, German.
